Process
All event paintings are undertaken in oil. Small and medium scale paintings will be done on board (indicated in the table with a 'b'), large ones on canvas (indicated in the table with a 'c'), but the artist is happy to discuss your individual requirements. If, after initial discussions, you are interested in proceeding, the artist will produce outline sketches of composition options together with firm prices for a variety of sizes.
(These sketches are without obligation and are based on information supplied regarding the venue and room configuration together with images available online.)

Once the composition and price have been agreed a minimum advance payment of £300 plus the estimated travel expenses is payable to secure the booking.
The artist will arrive to set up and start painting 2-3 hours before the event commences. He will then continue to add guests and detail throughout the proceedings.
The artist will endeavour to complete as much of the painting as possible in situ, but will also take reference photos during the event for completion of the painting, as required, in his studio.
For evening events a spotlight may be required to provide sufficient light to paint by and this will be supplied by the artist, although access to a powerpoint will be required.
The painting will be completed within a few days of the event and an image will be emailed to you for approval. Minor modifications can be made at this stage if any changes are required.
After completion the painting will take approximately 2-3 weeks to dry prior to being packaged for delivery.
Once the final painting has been approved prints can also be ordered. These will be archival quality, limited edition and signed by the artist and make ideal presents. Prices are as follows:

The advance payment is non-refundable after the event, but if dissatisfied there is no obligation to pay the balance (although the painting will be retained by and remain the property of the artist until paid for in full).
Up to 7 days prior to the event the advance payment is refundable in full (less any irrecoverable expenses). Within 7 days of the event a minimum of £100 will be retained.
Copyright of the painting remains with the artist.
Whilst all reasonable endeavours are made to attend the event and fulfil the brief, the liability of Ben Hughes Art for non-attendance, whether due to illness or any other reason, will be limited to any monies already paid. Ben Hughes Art accepts no liability for consequential damages for non-attendance or dissatisfaction with the artwork.
Mileage is charged at 50p per mile.
